When can low confidence/self-esteem become an issue?

Low confidence is when someone lacks confidence about who they are and what they can do. Sufferers often feel unloved, incompetent or inadequate. Low self-confidence affects all of us from time to time. However, if your self-worth is so low that you are struggling to function, it can have a negative effect on your mental health and daily life. Low self-esteem can everything from your career to your relationships. There are a lot of different reasons why someone may have low self-esteem – your genes, how and where you grew up and other circumstances can all have an impact. One of the most important factors is the individual's mental state. We all have an inner voice, and this voice may be constantly telling you that you are not good enough or can’t achieve your goals. This negative thinking plays a large role in your self-esteem.
